Reggae / Sound System Flyer (1960s–1990s)

Jamaican sound system culture and its UK diaspora successors produced handmade or simply typeset flyers for dances advertised by word-of-mouth and flyposted on walls. Bold hand-lettered or stencil-cut type, primary colours in the red-gold-green Rastafarian palette, and an informal urgency that reflected the culture it served — communal, warm, handmade.
