80s NYC Hip Hop Flyer (1979–1995)
The block party and club flyer tradition of early hip hop used whatever tools were available — photocopiers, colour Xerox, bubble graffiti lettering, and eventually desktop publishing — to announce Saturday night. The format is announcement-first: who, where, when, how much. Stacked bold type, bubble letter headlines, and break-dancer silhouettes carry the culture's energy with complete directness.
