Klimt, Hoffmann, and Olbrich's revolt against academic historicism — where Art Nouveau's organic curves meet architectural geometry. Rectilinear gold frames enclose stylised natural motifs; the result is more symmetrical and structural than French Art Nouveau, with a jewelled, almost hieratic quality.
